What are the categories of separation?

The first category is a no tolerance category.  This measure should be taken if it has been proven that an associate has committed fraud, cheated, or broken rules.  This firing is done immediately without severance pay.  The second category is for poor performance.  Here, termination ususally involves a meeting to discuss the associate’s performance failure.

What are some fears associated with improper termination?

In addition to having legal liability, it results in making the associate a martyr, even if they weren’t popular.  Termination can be the company’s best or worse moments in the eyes of your associates.
